Optional classes include programming and dance taught in English, and Japanese-language-focused offerings such as Pygmalion and Ronri Engine.
English is the official language of instruction at CGK Kannai Campus, with Japanese taught as a second language. In Preschool, daily Japanese language classes are integrated with IB inquiry-based learning, using both English and Japanese in instruction. In Elementary, English is the primary language of instruction and Japanese is taught as a second language, with language development woven into Units of Inquiry. CGK offers JLL (Japanese Language and Literature) for native Japanese speakers and JAL (Japanese as Acquisition Language) for learners, with daily classes that support fluency.
CGK provides Japanese language immersion through the JAL program, which has four levels: Beginner, Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced. JAL lessons emphasize language acquisition in authentic contexts and are linked with JLL and IB Units of Inquiry to integrate language with inquiry-based learning. JLL provides native-level Japanese instruction aligned with MEXT standards, supporting daily Japanese study across the program. The school also offers study-abroad initiatives and English-language support for international students studying abroad in Japan, enabling immersion experiences in English when needed.
