Extra-Curricular Activities

Clubs, activities, and opportunities to explore interests and passions

Academic and Intellectual

DISK integrates after-school clubs and athletic activities as a deliberate complement to the IB program, guided by the IB Learner Profile and CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) principles. These activities support intellectual growth through collaborative, inquiry-based engagement beyond classroom time. Students are encouraged to pursue interests that develop critical thinking, communication, and global awareness.

Arts and Creative

Yearbook Club engages in photography, design, and storytelling to document the school year. These activities involve creative planning, layout design, and visual storytelling. The club develops visual communication skills in collaboration with the broader program.

Social and Hobbies

Current Clubs & Activities include Model United Nations (MUN) and Yearbook Club. MUN engages in global diplomacy, debate, and problem-solving and prepares participants for the Kobe MUN event. Yearbook Club documents school memories through photography, design, and storytelling. Students who wish to start a new club—particularly those seeking to lead an activity as part of IB CAS—are encouraged to share ideas; sponsorship guidance is available from the CAS Coordinator, Mr. Lafferty.

Leadership and Professional

Students may start new clubs, especially to lead an activity as part of IB CAS. Guidance on sponsoring a club is provided by the CAS Coordinator, Mr. Lafferty.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

After-school clubs and activity programs support students' personal, social, and physical well-being. These activities supplement the academic program and foster collaboration, leadership, creativity, and personal growth. The Activity Program rotates through a diverse series of activities, each led by different teachers, with each activity lasting three to four weeks.
