Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
Step 1: Contact Us. To begin the admissions process, reach GIIS Tokyo via the admissions enquiry form, by phone, or by email. Admissions counselors respond by email or phone to arrange an in-person campus tour or a virtual tour, depending on what you prefer. The campus tour provides firsthand information on school offerings, student life, and benefits, while virtual meetings cover the admission process, the available curricula, and the subjects offered.
Step 2: Campus Visit (or Meeting). You can schedule a campus visit or a counselling meeting, either in person or online. The Admissions Team offers campus tours so you can learn about programs, facilities, student life, and the overall environment. Virtual counselling sessions help you understand the admission process, the different curriculums, and subject options before you decide how to proceed.
Step 3: Submit Application Form. After completing the application form, you must submit it along with the required documents. A one-time registration fee that is non-refundable confirms the seat and secures your spot. Students seeking scholarships will find different forms to fill out, and scholarship experts are available to guide you. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by phone and email about the next steps and may undergo a separate admission track.
Step 4: Payment Of Term 1 Fees. Once you meet the admission criteria and complete the required steps, the first term fees need to be paid before the school term begins. For admissions that occur mid-year, the fees are prorated to reflect the starting date.
Step 5: Documentation. Documentation is essential and includes Birth Certificate, Proof of Residential Address, Child's Recent Passport Size Photo, and Medical Certificate. Submitting the proper documentation is necessary; without it, applications may be rejected.
Waitlist/Pool: There is no published waitlist or pool system in the admissions materials. Admissions are open throughout the academic year and depend on seat availability. The admission review process is conducted in January each year, and shortlisted candidates are notified by phone and email about the next steps. This indicates decisions are primarily seat-driven, with a formal shortlist communicated to families as part of the process.
