Annual tuition (2025–26 academic year)
- ELC (Preschool & Kindergarten): ¥2,038,000 per year.

Per-term and per-quarter breakdown (how charges are applied)
- Tuition is set annually and billed as an annual amount for students who start at the beginning of the school year. Students who register after the school year begins are charged on a quarterly basis. (A quarter is defined as roughly one-half of a semester; semesters and quarters are defined in the school billing calendar.)
- Inference (arithmetic): for mid-year registrants who are charged quarterly, a single quarter charge can be approximated as one-quarter of the annual tuition listed above; a semester charge can be approximated as one-half of the annual tuition. (This per-quarter/per-semester arithmetic follows from the school's statement that mid-year registrations are charged quarterly and from the school's definitions of semesters and quarters.)

Application, registration and one‑time fees
- Application Fee (all applicants): ¥50,000 (one-time, non-refundable).
- Registration Fee (students entering Kindergarten–Grade 12): ¥850,000 (one-time; non-refundable after the date of registration).
- Campus Development Fee (all students): ¥250,000 per year (charged in full, not prorated).

Other recurring and optional fees

Billing schedule and payment terms
- Current students matriculating to the subsequent school year are invoiced in April. A non‑refundable deposit of ¥100,000 is payable by April 30 to guarantee a seat; the remaining fees and tuition are payable by June 30. Failure to pay by the specified date may result in release of the student's place.
- New students (mid‑year enrollment) receive an invoice after registration is confirmed; those invoices are payable within two weeks or before enrollment, whichever is earlier. New students cannot enroll until the invoiced tuition and fees have been paid. Students who register after the school year begins are charged tuition quarterly regardless of the start date within the quarter.
- Installment option (Direct Debit): families may apply to pay tuition and the Campus Development Fee in 10 monthly installments from June through March (payments on the 27th of each month). To use the direct‑debit installment plan parents must submit documentation by May 10 and pay a ¥20,000 fee per family; families registering after May 10 may still apply but must complete installments by March. A choice to pay by installments does not reduce the overall financial responsibility in the event of early withdrawal.
- Invoice timing: invoices are issued at the point of registration for all applicable tuition and fees and are payable within 14 days or before enrollment, whichever is earlier, in circumstances defined by the school's registration windows and invoicing rules.

Payment methods and bank details
- Accepted payment methods: payments must be in Japanese Yen and may be made by bank wire transfer or by Direct Debit. Only the Application Fee may be paid online by credit card via the school's admissions portal.
- Wire transfer account details (Yen account options appear on invoices and are supplied to families; sample bank names and account numbers are published for MUFG, SMBC and a local credit cooperative). Parents should reference the child's name and account code when wiring funds.

Withdrawal and refund policy (high‑level summary)
- Application Fee: non‑refundable in all circumstances. Registration Fee: non‑refundable from the date of registration. Campus Development Fee: refundable in full prior to the enrollment start date and non‑refundable after that date.
- Annual Tuition refunds prior to the enrollment start date: full refund if withdrawal is indicated earlier than 14 calendar days prior to the enrollment start date; if withdrawal is within 14 calendar days of the enrollment start date a full tuition refund is given less an administrative fee of ¥200,000. From the enrollment start date onwards, tuition is refundable on a semester basis only; no refunds are given for partially completed semesters. Deadlines for written notice apply and a ¥200,000 administrative fee may be deducted from semester refunds if notice deadlines are missed.
- Bus fees: refunds for bus fees are handled by the NIS Bus Association and are given on a semester basis only; no refunds for partially completed semesters. The Bus Association must be informed at least 14 calendar days prior to the first day of the semester to be eligible for a refund.
- 1:1 support fees (where applicable): these fees are payable in full and non‑refundable once accepted in writing as part of the registration contract.

Boarding
- Nagoya International School operates as a day school; there is no boarding program and therefore no boarding fees.

Other costs and supplies (uniform, supplies, extracurriculars)
- The school supplies most general classroom items; grade‑specific supply lists exist and list items families must provide before the school year. New students receive a complimentary NIS T‑shirt (default sizes by grade are published). Costs for personal items, optional uniforms (if used), school bags, specific musical instruments, laptop devices, field‑trip clothing or other optional items vary by family and grade.
- Co‑curricular trips, some optional overseas programs and optional online IB courses are additional costs where applicable; the school publishes estimates for those optional expenses.

Penalties and delinquency
- Late payment penalties: delinquent accounts may be charged interest (policy indicates a penalty rate of 1.5% per month on unpaid balances); prolonged delinquency can result in suspension of attendance and withholding of school records. Newly registered students cannot begin classes until all tuition and fees have been paid.

Nagoya International School (NIS) is an international day school in Nagoya, Japan, established in 1964.
