Senri International School of Kwansei Gakuin (SIS) was founded in 1991 alongside its sister school Osaka International School to serve returnees and international residents in the Kansai region. SIS began as a middle- and high-school program delivering a Japanese diploma with a pathway to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP) for grades 11–12. In 2010, SIS joined the Kwansei Gakuin Educational Foundation as a member school, integrating more fully with KG's network of campuses. The two schools operate under the 'Two Schools Together' model, sharing facilities and coordinating joint activities while maintaining separate curricula paths.
The SIS and OIS campuses form a diverse, international community on the north Osaka campus, united by the Two Schools Together concept. More than 30 nationalities are represented among students and staff, reflecting a vibrant intercultural environment. Students and teachers collaborate on cross-campus classes and performances, with shared athletics, arts, and music programs across both schools. Key annual events include a School Festival in spring, Sports Day in fall, the All School Production in winter, and the International Fair in November.
The Osaka International School PTA covers the SIS and OIS communities within the KG Educational Foundation, and all parents and teachers with children at OIS are automatic members who meet monthly throughout the school year. The PTA funds and assists in educational projects not normally provided by the school budget and aims to strengthen cooperation between families and the faculty. An executive committee leads the PTA (2025-2026), and minutes, as well as by-laws, are available to members via the parent portal. The OIS PTA maintains a close working relationship with the Senri International School Parent Association (SISPA) to coordinate cross-school initiatives. Parents help organize events such as the International Fair in November and contribute to other school-wide activities, including annual School Festival, Sports Day, and All School Production. Through the Two Schools Together framework, SIS and OIS parent groups collaborate to support students across both campuses.
Senri International School of Kwansei Gakuin (SIS) is a Japanese middle and high school in Minoh City, Osaka (north Osaka), founded in 1991 and sharing one campus with its sister school, Osaka International School, through the “Two Schools Together” model. Students follow curricula leading to Japanese middle and high school diplomas, and SIS also offers a route for students to pursue the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP), studied in grades 11–12 (ages 16–18). SIS highlights a three-term semester system designed to support transfers and flexible study patterns, and it emphasizes English development across subjects. The campus guide notes English is commonly used across shared-campus activities. Boarding is available via the school’s Akebono Dormitory for students who cannot easily commute.
