Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

The International School of Choueifat – Amman opened in September 1997, welcoming both Jordanian and international students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. ISC-Amman is a member of the SABIS Network, a long-established global education system. SABIS operates in 20 countries on five continents and educates over 70,000 students using a proven, proprietary system. The network emphasizes a philosophy of top-quality education that prepares students to meet the challenges of a changing world. Today ISC-Amman serves a highly diverse student body of nearly 1,000 students.

Community

Major school events include frequent sports competitions between SABIS Network schools and other local schools, with sports days organized by the Student Life Organization and outreach activities. Several musical concerts are held each year, and there are a wide range of activities on Saturdays including ballet, swimming, gymnastics, and taekwondo. ISC-Amman offers a variety of clubs and activities for students, such as arts and crafts, dance, coding, horseback riding, classical ballet, chess, choir, debate, drama, and science. The school theatre and performance spaces support regular music, drama, and assemblies, reinforcing a culture of student participation.

Parent-Teacher Association

A standalone Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is not described in ISC-Amman's public materials. Parent involvement is supported through the SABIS Digital Platform, which provides up-to-date information about students' progress, attendance, disciplinary issues, and contributions to Student Life, and through three term-end reports and opportunities for parent meetings with Academic Quality Controllers or school staff. The SABIS Student Life Organization (SLO) coordinates student-life events that involve families, including a broad range of activities such as the Student Life Mini Conference, Arabic Poetry Night, Mother's Day, High School Academic Achievers' Awards, KGs Concerts, Primary Concerts, Steam Competitions, Science Fair, Family Fun Day, Sports Day, Open Day, a School Musical Production, and Graduation. Public calendars and school news are accessible via the SABIS Digital Platform, enabling ongoing family engagement. Family-oriented events such as Graduation, Family Fun Day, Arabic Poetry Night, and Mother's Day illustrate active family involvement in ISC-Amman's community. While a formal PTA is not listed, ISC-Amman emphasizes family engagement through these mechanisms and through SLO-organized events.
