Kazakhstan International School Astana offers the International Baccalaureate continuum (PYP, MYP, and DP) in Astana's EXPO area. The DP follows six subject groups: Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, and the Arts, with three Higher Level and three Standard Level subjects, plus Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay, and Creativity, Activity, and Service. KIS Astana plans an inquiry-led, globally minded curriculum from Early Years through to DP, with PYP in Kindergarten through Grade 5 and MYP in Grades 6-10. The 2024 campus provides indoor and outdoor spaces, including an artificial football pitch, a running track, a tennis court, two indoor pools, a large sports hall, and dedicated spaces for Music, Art, Dance, and Physical Education. After-school options feature Football, Karate, Robotics, Drama, Chess, Dombra, and languages. 1. KIS Astana accepts students from Preschool through Grade 9. Enrollment is open for children aged 2 to 10 years. In 2024, a new KIS Astana campus opened, and the school is now accepting students for Preschool through Grade 9. English is the language of communication in school, and the environment is multicultural.
2. Interested families should fill the Register Your Interest form to start. The form asks for the child's name, email, and phone, and asks which programme is of interest (Early Years or Primary Years). The form notes that Javascript is required for submission. Enrollment is open for ages 2-10.
3. Academic fees for 2026-2027 are listed by level: Toddlers (2 years old) cost 10,000 USD; Pre-Kindergarten (3 years old) 11,000 USD; Kindergarten (4 years old) 14,500 USD; Reception (5 years old) 20,000 USD. Primary Years: Grades 1-2 22,000 USD; Grades 3-5 24,000 USD; Middle Years: Grades 6-8 26,000 USD; Grades 9-10 27,000 USD. A 40% merit-based discount is available for students with high academic performance starting from Grade 2.
4. Transportation is available via the school buses; Bus service is pay-as-you-go. Lunch is available with an additional charge for meals. Before & After School Activities are usually free; Some activities may require a small charge to cover costs if run by external providers.
5. Mid-year admission is possible; If a child joins mid-semester, the term fees are calculated based on the remaining days of the school year. The admission fee must be paid in full. There is a refund process for withdrawals, including completing the Early Withdrawal Form and clearing debts before documents can be released; refunds are prorated with an admin fee. Most students can enroll at any time within an academic year.
