Miras International School opened in 1999 and is authorized for all stages of the International Baccalaureate Programme. The school is the first International School in Kazakhstan. The academic team includes teachers from more than 10 countries who are experienced in the latest educational methodologies and have international examiner status. After graduation, 100% of alumni enroll at top overseas and national universities.
Children Music School (CMS) enables Miras students to study musical subjects within the school. The CMS offers a five-year program with specialties in piano, dombra, violin, and vocal. Compulsory subjects include specialty (in selected class), solfeggio, musical literature, Kazakh musical literature, compulsory piano, and choir. On graduation, the CMS issues a state-recognized certificate; CMS accepts children from 6 years.
In September 2011, a French Section was opened at Miras International School, Nur-Sultan, in accordance with a cooperation agreement between Nursultan Nazarbayev Educational Foundation and the Mission Laïque Française French (MLF) French Secular Mission. In 2016, the Primary School of the French Section was accredited by the Ministry of National Education of the French Republic. In June 2019, the French Section was renamed and now has the official name - Ecole française internationale Charles de Gaulle - Miras. This is the only school in Kazakhstan with the French language of instruction.
The School encourages students to be inquisitive; critical, creative thinkers; capable of making independent decisions; and be aware of the value of interaction and collaboration. Participation in the Leadership Programme allows students to develop leadership skills to become active and responsible citizens of their country and the world community in the future. The Student Council was established to implement and develop student initiatives, independence, social engagement, and participation in solving school-related issues. The Student Council consists of the president and the chairs of committees who are elected by the school students based on voting.

Creating a safe educational environment is a top priority. Safety compliance is verified annually by authorised State agencies and by the international accreditation agency CIS. The safety framework includes teaching safety regulations and safe behavior in case of emergencies, providing psychological and pedagogical support, and monitoring the operation of safety systems. It also includes measures to ensure health and the quality of food services.
Miras International School Astana is a private school in Kazakhstan offering Baccalaureate continuum: PYP, MYP and DP, for students aged 3 to 18. Opened in 1999, it was Kazakhstan's first school authorized for all IB continuums and it maintains graduates enrolling at top universities. The teaching staff comes from more than 10 countries, with many teachers experienced as international examiners. The campus includes a Music School offering a five‑year program in piano, dombra, violin and vocal studies, plus a Music Studio and an Early Musical Development group. The Centre for Harmonics runs after‑school arts and sports activities, including Dance, Painting, Football, Taekwondo, Basketball, Chess, Breakdance and Robotics, with language classes for primary students. A Learning Support Center provides psychological support and SEN services. Multilingual language instruction covers Kazakh, English, Russian and French, with the French Section renamed Ecole française internationale Charles de Gaulle - Miras, the only French-language instruction in Kazakhstan.
