All students take part in at least one extra-curricular activity per week during each term. The activities provide academic, physical and artistic opportunities in addition to the curriculum. The programme includes Maths challenge, Maths clinic, Physics clinic and STEM, as well as Wizz Kids programming and Code Club. Debating, Model United Nations and Philosophy foster critical thinking and communication.
Arts and Crafts, African Arts, Ballet, Band and Dance are offered, with opportunities in Musical Theatre and Orchestra. Sewing and Storytelling provide hands-on creative outlets, while Story Yoga blends movement with narrative. Pupils can participate in school productions and other performing arts events. A variety of performances and displays showcase students' creativity.
Languages include Mandarin, Kiswahili, Spanish, German, Dutch and French. Model United Nations is offered as an activity, along with cultural activities that bring a global perspective. The language program supports intercultural understanding and communication.
Board games and chess are available, along with gardening, kayaking, sailing, rollerskating, Monkeynastix and salsa dancing. There are additional social and informal groups that support personal interests. These activities promote social interaction and personal enjoyment beyond academics.
Community service is included as part of the extra-curricular programme. Students participate in volunteering and service initiatives in the local community. These activities support social responsibility and personal growth.
Future Leaders and Entrepreneurs programs develop leadership and enterprise skills. Debating, Model United Nations and other leadership-focused activities build communication and teamwork. Students gain experience in presentation, collaboration and problem-solving.
Sports include Athletics, Basketball, Cricket, Cross-country running, Football, Hockey, Netball, Rounders, Rugby, Squash, Swimming and Tennis. Some sports are seasonal. Other activities include Golf, Kayaking, Sailing, Gymnastics and Martial arts such as Taekwondo and Karate.
Braeburn Garden Estate School is a co-educational day and boarding school near Nairobi serving ages 2–18. It follows the British National Curriculum through Nursery to Year 11, with Cambridge IGCSE and offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), the International Baccalaureate Career-Related Programme (IBCP) and BTEC Level 3 in Years 12–13. Boarding is available for Years 7 and above. The 32-acre campus sits eight kilometres northeast of central Nairobi on Garden Estate Road and includes large playing fields, pools (training pool for younger pupils and a 25-metre pool), outdoor courts, a large sports hall, a dance studio, a gym, squash courts, libraries, dining areas and playgrounds. The school is CIS accredited and an IB World School, and is a member of the Braeburn Group of International Schools.
