Facilities Overview

The school has a well-stocked, up-to-date library, a music room and a practice room, an information technology suite with on-site Wi-Fi, a specialist science laboratory and preparation room, and a fully-equipped art and design technology room. There is a playing field and two Braeburn buses. It serves children from age 2 to 16 years. The facilities support the curriculum based on the National Curriculum of England and Wales, with ICT integrated throughout. Sports Facilities

There is one playing field for outdoor sports. Swimming is included as part of the timetable and games lessons focus on the major sports of the term. The school operates a well-established inter-school sports circuit and inter-house competitions. Swimming team members who meet the qualifying times may compete at national and international levels.

The school observes events such as World Maths Day, World Literacy Day, World Book Day, Poetry and Pancakes, Thanksgiving, Diwali and St Valentine's Day. A parent group, Rafiki Of Braeburn Kisumu School – ROBS, coordinates family-focused activities.

Braeburn Kisumu International School (BKIS) is a day, co-educational school in Kisumu, Kenya, aligned with the National Curriculum of England and Wales and adapted for local needs today. Established in 1985 and part of the Braeburn Group since 2007, BKIS delivers a continuous programme from early years to Year 11. The Early Years follow the UK EYFS with Foundation Stage 1 and 2, while the Primary and Secondary curricula are English-medium and culminate in Cambridge IGCSEs in Years 10–11; a BTEC qualification is also offered. From age 2 to 16, students study English, Maths, Science, Languages (French and Kiswahili), and numerous optional subjects, with SATs at the ends of Years 2 and 6. The school provides facilities: stocked library, music and art rooms, science laboratory, ICT suite, field, and buses. Notable features include Model United Nations, President's Award, ABRSM music exams, inter-school sport, and a Careers and University Advisor service.
