Braeburn Nanyuki International School is a co-educational international school in Kenya serving ages 2 to 13. It follows the British National Curriculum within the EYFS, on a campus in Nanyuki at the foot of Mt Kenya. The curriculum places English, Mathematics and Science at its core, and introduces Kiswahili from Year 1 and French from Year 3. Subjects include Science, Computing, History, Geography, PE, Swimming, Music, Art and Design Technology, PSHE and RSHE, taught through an enquiry-based, cross-curricular approach with outdoor learning and active engagement with arts and global cultures. The campus features wood-and-stone architecture, large windows, a well-stocked library, a science laboratory and an IT suite, plus extensive playing fields and courts. Extras include an annual school production, Scouts and a wide range of clubs. The mountain setting enhances outdoor learning.

Braeburn Nanyuki International School teaches British Curriculum, EYFS (Early years foundation stage) for students aged 2 to 13.
Led by the UK National Curriculum, Braeburn Nanyuki's curriculum aims to prepare students for adult and working life in the 21st century. Core skills in English, Mathematics and Science are taught and woven into topics such as History and Geography. Kiswahili is taught from Year 1 and French is added from Year 3. A broad range of subjects is taught, including Science, Computing, History, Geography, Physical Education, Swimming, Music, Art and Design Technology, PSHE and RSHE. The curriculum adopts an enquiry-based, cross-curricular approach with outdoor learning and opportunities to engage with arts, current affairs and global cultures. Very able pupils receive tailored challenge materials; the Inclusion team works with teachers to plan provision. Any extra provision is regularly monitored and updated.
The school nurtures a caring and supportive environment which fully acknowledges the value and individual needs of all students and staff. It builds positive and respectful relationships between students, parents, staff and the wider community. It promotes international and cross-cultural knowledge, interest, awareness and understanding.
The school welcomes children with mild learning difficulties and offers a range of additional support. There is an Inclusion Policy. There is inclusion in most mainstream classes with withdrawal from one or two subjects decided in consultation with parents, the pupil and teachers. The Inclusion Team supports planning and delivery of targeted support; an Inclusion Lead and Inclusion Teacher help coordinate resources.
The school has limited provision for English as an additional language. Special oral and written tests may be used to determine a child's proficiency in English.
The school promotes positive mental health and wellbeing for the whole school community, including children, staff and parents. Mental health and emotional wellbeing are recognised as important to learning and overall wellbeing.
The school is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children. Safeguarding Policy and related safeguarding measures are in place.
The school welcomes children from all backgrounds. The Primary school caters for children aged 2 to 13 years. The academic year begins in September, and students can join at any time. To reserve a place, the application form must be completed and a small non-refundable registration fee paid; an offer is made in writing depending on places available. Children who cannot be accommodated immediately are placed on a waiting list. Final admission is subject to interview with the headteacher. The school is a member of the Braeburn Group of International Schools.
