Braeburn School is a co-educational international school in Nairobi, Kenya. It has operated for over 30 years. Braeburn pursues a holistic approach to learning that balances academics, music, sports, the arts, outdoor pursuits and drama.
Braeburn has a cosmopolitan and diverse student and parent body with over 90 nationalities represented, fostering respect for different cultures. There is a strong community ethos; parents are encouraged to become part of the Braeburn family and many facilities and activities are available for families. A Home-School Partnership is supported through diaries, newsletters and regular parent evenings, and the Friends at Braeburn (FAB) Parent-Teacher Association coordinates events and community activities. The school provides facilities such as the Braeburn Coffee Shop, Lifelong Learning, the Braeburn Club and theatres to support community life and engagement.
Friends at Braeburn (FAB) is the Parent and Teacher Association at Braeburn Gitanga. FAB works to enhance the school community by organizing events, supporting charitable causes, and fostering a positive environment for students, families and staff. FAB consists of three active subcommittees: Events, Charities, and Lost Property. The Events Committee runs discos and seasonal celebrations; the Charities Committee organizes fundraising and community service projects; the Lost Property Committee manages items and returns them to their owners. Braeburn School, based in Nairobi, Kenya, is a co-educational international school delivering the British National Curriculum from Early Years through Sixth Form, with Ages 3 to 18. The curriculum follows the National Curriculum with enrichment opportunities to extend and deepen learning, covering Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form. Examinations available include Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge A Levels, BTEC Level 3 and Pearson Edexcel Certification.
