Billing schedule & payment terms
- Standard billing frequency: fees are determined for the academic year and billed on a three-term basis. Termly instalments are due on 1 September, 5 January and 20 April (dates given for the 2025–2026 schedule).
- Candidate classes (Years 11 and 13) are billed per semester and payable in two equal instalments on the specified semester dates. IFY is billed per semester with its own two-instalment schedule.
- Fees are payable on or before the first day of each term. A monthly instalment plan is available on request.
- Early payment discount: 2% on tuition when full-year payment is made before the start of the academic year.
- Late payment penalty: 2% charged for late payment, commencing two weeks after the start date of term.
What is included / excluded
- Included in tuition: lunch, textbooks and exercise books.
- Not included: registration fee and examination fees. Trips, residential field courses, some optional clubs/activities and transport are charged separately. Students must supply certain items of equipment listed in the school handbook.
Other costs and recurring optional charges
- Individual music lessons (instrumental or vocal): KSh 17,000 per term.
- Yearbook fee (annual): KSh 3,200 per year.
- Kenya pupil pass and re-entry pass (for non-Kenyans): KSh 15,000 (subject to government adjustment).
- Medical cover for boarding students (optional): KSh 75,000 per year (subject to adjustment by the provider).
- Trips, residential field courses, optional activities and transport are charged in addition and will be notified in official communications.
- School uniform is required; the uniform list is provided by the school. (Uniform item prices are set out in the school's uniform list.)
Refunds, withdrawal and related conditions
- A full term's written notice is required for all withdrawals. If proper notice is not given, a full term's fees is payable in lieu of such notice. Final clearance documents are issued only after settlement of obligations.
- Specific refundable items: the caution money for IFY students is refundable only upon progression to an NCUK university (other caution monies are held as specified).
Fee payment methods and options
- Currency: fees are quoted in Kenyan shillings; payments may be made in Kenyan shillings or US dollars. Those choosing to pay in US dollars will be advised of the exchange rate at the time of payment.
- Accepted payment modes: direct deposits / SWIFT transfers to the school bank accounts (bank details are provided on fee statements/invoices). Cheques and cash payments are not accepted.
- A monthly instalment plan is available; enquiries are handled by the school's administration.

Brookhouse Schools are private international day schools in Nairobi, Kenya, with premium on-site boarding at the Karen campus for boarders. The group operates two campuses, Karen and Runda, admitting pupils aged 1 to 18. The school delivers a UK curriculum across Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form, including IGCSE and A-Levels, with a BTEC qualification option. Brookhouse is fully accredited by Cambridge International Examinations, Edexcel and AQA to deliver the UK framework.
