Clubs, activities, and opportunities to explore interests and passions

Academic and Intellectual

Languages such as French, Spanish and Mandarin are offered as part of Academic Extension. Journalistic activities, Model United Nations, a Mooting Club, Web Rangers, and the World Scholars Cup are also available. These activities extend learning beyond the core curriculum and provide a broad range of intellectual challenges.

Arts and Creative

Arts & Culture includes major annual drama and musical productions, with inter-house competitions to build stage confidence. Club Activities cover Art, Ballet, Chess, Choir, Cookery, Dance, Debate, Jewelry Making, Orchestra, Photography, Sculpture, Sign Language, Story Time and TEDx. In Music, students develop music skills and may pursue the BTEC Diploma in Music.

Cultural and Language

Languages such as French, Spanish and Mandarin are available. Sign Language is among the Arts & Culture clubs. Inter-house cultural events occur each term.

Social and Hobbies

Students can join a broad range of clubs across Arts & Culture, Sciences & STEM and Sports & Outdoor Education. Arts & Culture offerings include Art, Ballet, Chess, Choir, Jewelry Making, Orchestra, Photography, Sign Language, Story Time and TEDx; Sciences & STEM include LEGO League Robotics and Young Engineers; Sports & Outdoor Education includes Tennis, Soccer, Gymnastics, Taekwondo and Scouts. Regular inter-house events and competitions also provide opportunities for social engagement.

Leadership and Professional

Students are placed in one of four Houses: Amboseli, Mara, Samburu or Tsavo. There are regular inter-house cultural events and sports fixtures each term. House Captains provide leadership opportunities and help develop leadership skills.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

Sport is an integral feature of life at Brookhouse, allowing pupils to experience a diverse range of sports. Sports develop mental, physical and social well-being and promote good sportsmanship. Inter-house sports fixtures support teamwork and personal well-being.

Brookhouse Schools are private international day schools in Nairobi, Kenya, with premium on-site boarding at the Karen campus for boarders. The group operates two campuses, Karen and Runda, admitting pupils aged 1 to 18. The school delivers a UK curriculum across Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form, including IGCSE and A-Levels, with a BTEC qualification option. Brookhouse is fully accredited by Cambridge International Examinations, Edexcel and AQA to deliver the UK framework. Facilities span a 15-acre Karen site and the Runda campus, with an indoor sports centre, a swimming pool, a state-of-the-art performance theatre, modern performing arts studios and STEM laboratories; VR and the Metaverse are used to enrich learning. The school has a long history since 1981, is a Round Square member, and joined Inspired Education Group in 2015.
