English is the primary language of instruction; all core curricula and materials are written and presented in English. Kiswahili, Mandarin and French are taught as additional languages; formal instruction is provided, with classes at least once per week (45 minutes) for K1 to PYP 5 and MYP. Host-country Kiswahili is promoted to foster cultural integration, and mother tongue support is provided to maintain students' home languages. Language learning is supported through resources such as language learning apps (Babble and Duolingo) and ongoing professional development for staff; language profiles are maintained to track progress.
Freedom International Schools – Africa is a private IB World School in Kenya offering an Afrocentric IB curriculum for ages 3 to 16. It is authorized to offer the Primary Years Programme and the Middle Years Programme, with Diploma Programme preparation underway.
