Clubs, activities, and opportunities to explore interests and passions

Academic and Intellectual

Science Club and Reading Club are offered as extra-curricular activities. Educational Visits & Visitors enrich and consolidate learning, with visitors such as African Drummers and specialist sports instructors. Most after-school clubs are run on the school premises by vetted providers; opportunities differ term to term and include Football, Art Club, Film Club, Multiskills, Le Club Francais (French Club), Karate, Netball, Science Club, Cooking Club, Reading Club and Music Club.

Arts and Creative

Art Club, Film Club and Music Club are offered as after-school activities. Cooking Club is also available, providing culinary creativity. There are several performances throughout the year, including a Christmas Play, KS2 School Play and Year 6 End of Year Production.

Cultural and Language

Le Club Francais (French Club) is offered to develop language skills. It supports cultural learning and exposure to French language and culture.

Social and Hobbies

Multiskills provides cross-sport activities and teamwork beyond the classroom. Reading Club offers social engagement and leisure reading opportunities.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

Football, Netball and Karate promote fitness and physical wellbeing. Personal, Social, Health & Citizenship Education (PSHCE) supports healthy, independent living and emotional intelligence. There are whole-school assemblies to introduce wellbeing themes and celebrate achievements.

Herald International School in Kenya offers a British-Curr Curriculum education with Cambridge Primary for Year 1 to Year 6 (ages 5 to 11) and a programme to age 16. English is taught as a first or second language alongside mathematics, science, Cambridge Global Perspectives and ICT. The Cambridge Primary framework provides clear learning objectives and supports progression across core subjects, with Cambridge Primary assessments such as Progression Tests and Checkpoint to track progress over time. The school emphasises spiral progression and ongoing professional development for staff, including the Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers. Facilities include a library and an ICT Suite; every classroom has internet-connected computers, and ICT is used for computer studies weekly. PSHCE is delivered following SEAL. After-school clubs include Football, Art Club, Le Club Francais, Science Club and Music Club, along with educational visits and annual performances such as a musical concert and other events.
