The ISK campus spans 40 acres on a former coffee plantation, with well‑kept gardens that create an inviting learning environment. A Track & Field facility was introduced in the 2023–2024 school year, expanding ISK's on‑site athletics space. The campus supports learning across academic, arts, and athletic programs. Co‑curricular spaces and athletic facilities are integrated into daily student life.
ISK has four basketball courts, two large playing fields, a competition swimming pool, and five tennis courts. The athletics program runs from Grade 1 through Grade 12, with elementary students participating in basketball, soccer, swimming, tennis and field hockey, and middle/high school teams competing in multiple sports. The school also offers intramural competitions and clubs to complement interscholastic play.
The ISK Library is an active and welcoming space designed for 21st‑century learning, housed under one roof in the heart of the school, with separate Elementary and Secondary spaces. Its collection includes over 30,000 books, digital resources, and magazine subscriptions. The Design & Innovation program provides design thinking experiences across all grade levels, with Middle School electives such as Product Design, Robotics, Game Design, and Genius Hour, and High School electives including Graphic Design, Engineering, Product Design, Robotics, Game Design, Motion Graphics, and Electronics & Programming, plus IB Design Technology (SL/HL). ISK also supports a one‑to‑one technology program with dedicated staff to integrate technology and design into learning. A Design & Art Center serves as a hub for related co‑curricular activities.
Co‑curricular activities span Elementary through High School and include Athletics, Intercultural Trips, and Service Learning. Outside the classroom, activities operate from the Design & Art Center and include Plastiki Rafiki, Construction by Design, 3D Fundi, Design Studio Kenya, Video and Animation Club, ISK Autos, Ceramics, Elements, Photography Club, and ISSEA STEAM.
International School of Kenya (ISK) is a private, non‑profit international school in Nairobi serving ages 3 to 18. Established in 1976 through a partnership between the United States and Canadian governments, ISK offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in grades 11–12 alongside a four‑year ISK High School Diploma and a U.S. and Canadian‑influenced American curriculum framework.
