Admissions

Admissions

Step 1. Age groups and enrollment windows. Jalaram Academy serves Nursery Section for ages 3-5, Primary for ages 6-13, and Secondary up to 18 years old. The academic year begins in September, and January enrollment is also available. The school welcomes children from diverse backgrounds. Visiting the school for a tour or having an informal chat with the head(s) of section, the senior principal, or school Admin before starting the admissions process is recommended.

Step 2. Application submission. To apply, complete the Admission Request online form. Only the first or second term of the school year may be submitted (September or January). The form asks for student details, parent contact, and visiting preferences. The school will be in touch after submission with the next steps.

Step 3. Interview. After submitting the form, the child will be invited for an interview to assess academic readiness, personal interests, and overall fit for Jalaram Academy. The interview may include casual conversation, basic academic evaluation, and consideration of social and emotional aspects. For younger children, parents may be involved in the process.

Step 4. Visit. A school visit is encouraged to learn more about the environment and opportunities. The visit can be a tour or an informal chat with the heads of section or senior leadership. This helps families understand the school culture and facilities before admission. Visiting is recommended prior to starting the admissions process.

Step 5. Required documents. All applicants must submit copies of their passport or birth certificate, the previous two academic reports, and a leaving certificate from the previous school. These documents verify identity and academic history as part of the admissions review.

Step 6. Age groups and section mapping. Nursery Section covers ages 3-5 under EYFS. Primary Section covers ages 5-11 under International Primary & Lower Secondary (iPLS). Lower Secondary covers ages 11-13 under International Lower Secondary (iLS). Secondary covers ages 13-15 under IGCSE. A Level covers ages 15-17 under AS/IAL. The Senior Section operates Year 7-13, with Years 9-11 offering IGCSEs and Years 12-13 offering A-Levels, with Pearson Edexcel as the preferred syllabus.

Step 7. Curriculum and accreditation. The Senior Section follows the British National Curriculum, with Years 9-11 offering IGCSEs and Years 12-13 offering A-Levels. Pearson Edexcel Examinations is the preferred board in all subject areas. ABRSM is listed among accreditations.
