History

The Nairobi Academy was founded by Mr Frank Bentley in 1976. It is a coeducational school serving children aged 2–19. It is a private school following the British Curriculum and Cambridge Assessment International Education, preparing students for the IGCSE and A Level examinations, as well as the BTEC and IB Diploma Programme. We admit students from Year 8 at the age of 11+ and also cater for KCSE students who wish to pursue GCE A-Level, BTEC and IBDP.

The Nairobi Academy is a private, coeducational day and boarding school in Kenya serving students from age 2 to 19. The school offers a multi-path secondary curriculum, combining the British Curriculum with Cambridge Secondary, IGCSE, A Levels, BTEC qualifications and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. It is authorized to offer the IB Diploma Programme and is pursuing authorization for the Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Career-related Programme. Admissions begin from Year 8 (11+), with pathways for KCSE students to pursue GCE A-Levels, BTEC and IBDP. Facilities include modern classrooms with projectors; a gym and PE room; an Art room and a video theatre; dedicated science laboratories for each subject; two ICT rooms and a well-equipped library. The school has extensive sports facilities, including a 25-metre swimming pool, with major sports such as cricket, hockey, rugby, soccer, as well as rounders and netball. Extra-curriculars cover debate, MUN, coding, robotics, music, drama, film/photography, and community service, with Friday activities compulsory.
