Facilities Overview

16 buildings on a 15-acre nature-rich campus dating back to the 1870s are used for teaching, boarding and administration. The campus features Khoury Hall, Dobbing Hall and the Meeting House, which host assemblies and musical performances; the Meeting House is regularly used for the traditional Friends meeting of Quakers on Sundays. Recent additions include a robotics lab in the Arts and Crafts block and a growing number of model classrooms with up-to-date furniture and technology. The school's facilities blend historic and modern spaces to support a wide range of learning and activities.

Sports Facilities

The school has extensive sports facilities, with its own football and athletic field, outdoor swimming pool, climbing wall, gymnasium and dance studio, and volleyball, basketball and tennis courts. Recent additions include a multi-gym with 17 pieces of equipment as well as an indoor sports court. Scheduled to come online in spring 2020 is the new BHS Sports Arena, featuring a top grade artificial grass sports pitch and running track. There are also two clay tennis courts, an indoor gym area, a 25-meter outdoor swimming pool, outdoor basketball and volleyball courts, a covered concrete playground and a sand play area with eight swings and monkey bars.

Academic Facilities

Brummana High School currently offers two programmes, the Lebanese Programme and the International Programme. Except for the Arabic/French/Spanish language classes and a few courses in the Lebanese Programme, the language of instruction is English. The Lebanese Programme is designed to fulfil the requirements of the Lebanese Ministry of Education and prepares students for the Brevet and Lebanese Baccalaureate exams, with choices including Life Sciences, General Sciences or Sociology and Economics. The International Programme leads to a High School Diploma, International Baccalaureate Diploma or A Levels qualifications, with all students sitting for the British IGCSE exams in Grade 10, and all International Programme students studying either Arabic or French as a second language. International Assessments include ACER and DELF, and the school operates with a 10:1 student/teacher ratio.

Serving students aged 3 to 18, it offers two main curricula: the Lebanese Programme leading to the Lebanese Baccalaureate and the International Programme, which culminates in IGCSE (Grade 10), AS Level (Grade 11) and A Level (Grade 12), with the option for students to transfer into the International Baccalaureate Programme after Grade 10. The language of instruction is English, with Arabic and French taught as second languages. The 15-acre campus features historic spaces such as the Meeting House alongside modern facilities including a robotics lab and updated classrooms.
