AISV integrates social-emotional learning (SEL) as an integrated part of the curriculum. In subject-area and Community Life classes, students develop self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, responsible decision-making, goal setting, empathy, and a growth mindset. The school prioritizes students' well-being within a safe and welcoming learning environment, and SEL is supported by a comprehensive after-school activities program and college and career counseling to support social and emotional development.
AISV recognizes English language learners (ELL). Students entering AISV with limited English are tested (K-11) to determine placement in intensive ELL support. The ELL program provides five weekly sessions for Grades K-5 during Language Arts and during the Foreign Language block for Grades 4-11. The aim is to enable students to acquire or improve English communication and to participate independently in the academic program.
AISV emphasizes student mental well-being as a core part of the learning experience. Social-emotional learning is integrated across the curriculum, fostering skills such as self-awareness, self-management, empathy, and growth mindset to support personal and academic growth.
AISV provides safeguarding and child protection resources, including a Parent Safeguarding handbook and community handbooks. The school has a Child Safeguarding Policy aligned with CEESA standards to protect students and ensure safe and supportive school environments.
AISV is a non-profit international day school in Vilnius serving PreK2 through Grade 12. The curriculum blends an American standards framework with international benchmarks and is an IB World School offering the Diploma Programme for grades 11–12. Instruction is in English, with language support to help students graduate multilingual. AISV is accredited by NEASC and CIS. The Lower School campus opened in 2022 at Srovės gatvė 19, and the Upper School campus is at Subačiaus gatvė 41, with two campuses that support a broad program and NHS/NJHS activities. The campus sits in a botanical reserve and features libraries, science labs, 3-D printers, and a Loose Parts Lab. Facilities also include a professional recording studio and well-equipped art rooms. With 40+ after-school activities, AISV offers robotics, programming, science club, Suzuki violin, and musical productions, along with athletics and service opportunities.
