Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

For social and emotional learning, the LFKL's "Vie Scolaire" (Student Support Service) plays a key role in monitoring student well-being and behavior. This department, managed by the Head of Student Support Services (CPE) and supervisors, ensures the smooth running of students' schooling, addressing both academic progress and conduct. Within the kindergarten curriculum, there is a focus on developing students' emotional control, self-confidence, and understanding of community rules, aiming to help children become independent and empathetic individuals.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

LFKL welcomes students with special developmental and learning needs. The school employs specialized teachers who provide suitable assistance and support during classes to address these needs. While it is not a specialist SEN institution, the school is equipped to offer support within its French curriculum framework.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

LFKL is recognized for its multilingual environment and provides support for students with English as an Additional Language. English classes are offered from preschool onwards, integrating educational activities tailored to each student's linguistic proficiency. The school employs English-speaking native teachers and provides 4 to 7 hours of English teaching per week in primary school, depending on the student's language profile.

Mental Wellbeing

LFKL supports student well-being primarily through its Medical Service and Student Support Service ("Vie Scolaire"). The Student Support Service oversees the overall schooling experience, addressing both academic progress and student behavior, which contributes to a supportive learning environment.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding information for the school is not publicly available.
