Nilai International School offers boarding in a purpose-built Boarding House. The Boarding House is led by the Head of Boarding and International Projects and the House Parents, who provide pastoral care and monitor boarders' progress. All students have study-bedrooms within secure, separate Boys' and Girls' wings; rooms are available as single or twin occupancy with en-suite bathrooms. There is a Sick Bay on campus and staff accompany boarders to medical appointments off-site. Prefects play a positive role within the House. Boarders follow a structured routine, and two weekly shopping trips to local malls are provided. Meals are included for boarders (breakfast and dinner); day students receive lunch as part of the day fee. Boarders must be in their rooms, quiet and with lights out by 10:15pm.
During the school day, all students are expected to be in uniform and look smart; after school and on weekends, boarders are encouraged to wear their own clothes.
Boarders enjoy a varied and wholesome menu of Western and Oriental food. School lunch is included in the fees for day students; breakfast and dinner are included for boarders.
The Boarding House operates with a House system led by the House Parents, who monitor boarders' progress. The House includes secure Boys' and Girls' wings, and Prefects play a positive role within the House.
Nilai International School is owned by Nilai Education Sdn Bhd. It is licensed by the Malaysian Ministry of Education and operates as a Cambridge International School. The school holds a 4-Star rating from the Private and International Schools Inspectorate and is a centre for the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award; Eco-School status is forthcoming.
Nilai International School provides an education based on the British curriculum for students aged 3 to 16. The academic structure follows the Cambridge pathway, offering the Primary and Secondary programmes through to the IGCSE examinations.
