Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The school supports social and emotional learning through its "RISE" and "SOAR" programs, which are integrated into the curriculum. These programs use simulations and real-world activities to teach teamwork, moral thinking, and social responsibility. Each student is also assigned a mentor who provides individual guidance and support. Teachers are trained to attend to the psychological needs and development of the students, fostering an inclusive classroom environment where open discussion is encouraged.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

QIS is not a specialist SEN institution but does accept students with special educational needs and learning disabilities. Admission for students with SEN is subject to an assessment to ensure the school can effectively cater to their specific requirements. The school's approach is to provide individual guidance, and teachers are trained to observe, teach, assess, and guide each student according to their needs.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

The school offers an English as a Second Language (ESL) program for students who are not fluent in English. This program is designed to provide language support to help students access the curriculum and improve their English proficiency. Through this program, the school aims to ensure that all students can fully participate in academic and social activities.

Mental Wellbeing

The school supports student mental wellbeing through a mentorship program where each student is assigned a mentor to provide individual guidance and support for both academic and personal issues. Teachers at Qosmos are trained to be attentive to the psychological needs of their students. The school's "RISE" and "SOAR" programs also incorporate elements that promote teamwork and social responsibility, which can contribute to a positive school environment.

Qosmo International School offers the Cambridge curriculum for students aged 3 to 18, culminating in IGCSE and A-Level qualifications. A distinctive feature of the school is its signature "RISE" and "SOAR" programs. The RISE program, for primary students, focuses on building foundational skills, while the SOAR program for secondary students uses realistic simulations, field trips, and contests to teach practical life skills. These programs aim to develop critical thinking and a "Qosmo resume" that tracks a student's achievements, providing a strong foundation for university applications. The school's campus includes a library, science lab, music room, and a multipurpose sports court.
