The school follows the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum in Nursery and Reception and builds on this with the English National Curriculum from Year 1. Learning is designed to be inspiring, creative, and engaging, with observation, assessment, and meaningful teachable moments to nurture curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of discovery. Small class sizes ensure every child is known, supported, and challenged, enabling tailored learning. The school offers a broad programme of co-curricular activities that complement classroom projects and support intellectual development.
The Performing Arts are central to RGSKL's educational philosophy. Specialist teaching in music, dance, and drama begins in the Early Years, with high-quality productions from class assemblies and nativity plays to larger concerts and musicals that provide opportunities for participation and confidence building. These experiences foster self-expression, creativity, and teamwork across the school.
Mandarin is introduced from Nursery and Reception, with interactive, age-appropriate lessons and an hour of Mandarin each week in the Early Years to build an immersion in the language. As students progress, they develop spoken and written fluency. From Year 3, students also begin French, providing a second foreign language and supporting cross-cultural communication.
RGSKL offers a wide range of clubs and activities across the school, including sport, the arts, music, and drama to help students discover passions and develop talents. Trips and visits form a vital part of the experience, providing real-world learning opportunities and building curiosity, resilience, and teamwork. The Secondary programme features more than 60 co-curricular activities (CCAs) across the College, nurturing creativity, collaboration, and leadership.
Co-curricular activities nurture leadership, collaboration, and creativity; there are opportunities to take on roles within clubs and teams and to develop leadership skills through performances and competitions. The secondary curriculum includes competitive academic opportunities such as mathematics challenges, science fairs, debating, and creative writing contests that connect students with peers beyond the school.
Student wellbeing is at the heart of RGSKL, with a layered pastoral network including academic mentors, tutors, and peer support, and targeted Individual Education Plans when needed. Wellbeing is embedded in daily life through assemblies, counselling, mentoring, and life-skills sessions, including attention to digital wellbeing. Sport and physical activity are encouraged to support fitness, resilience, teamwork, and overall health.
Reigate Grammar School Kuala Lumpur is located about 30 km from central Kuala Lumpur in the Kajang 2 township, noted by the school for its strong connectivity and planned community setting. RGSKL offers a British pathway from EYFS to Sixth Form, with Cambridge IGCSE in Upper Secondary and A Levels in Sixth Form. Class sizes are intentionally small—typically under 20. Co-curricular options span technology and innovation (e.g., Coding Club, Robotics), community and service (e.g., Debating, Ethics), and sports, with an “Adventure Sports and Physical Pursuits” strand. The school is co-educational planning to open a dedicated boarding program in 2027 and currently offers a temporary boarding program.
