Admissions

How to apply, waitlist information, and financial support

Admissions Process

1. Submit Application and Documents
Parents must complete the student application and registration forms, submitting them along with the required documents, including identity cards, academic report cards, and passport-sized photos, before the academic year begins.

2. Placement Assessments
Once the application is received, students undertake placement testing, which includes assessments in English, Science, and Mathematics. Additionally, an online English Diagnostic Test is conducted to determine appropriate placement.

3. Offer and Registration
Successful candidates receive a “Letter of Offer.” Enrollment is confirmed once the registration fee, as well as any other required documents and applicable payments, have been paid.

4. Payment Guidance
Fees must be paid according to the school’s billing schedule, typically two months before the start of each semester. Applicants applying for scholarships or bursaries must settle at least one semester’s fee before submitting their application.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

SJIS offers scholarships primarily aimed at academic high-achievers in the A-Level years. Eligibility criteria include being 20 years old or younger, having at least seven A’s in IGCSE/SPM, and holding full registration at the school.
Applicants must complete a scholarship application form and submit it to the school’s administration. Award decisions are made by the Scholarship Committee and are final.
In addition to academic scholarships, the school also provides financial aid based on merit and need. External funding sources, such as grants or sponsorships, may also be available, but details must be confirmed directly with the school’s administration.

St. John’s International Primary School offers a British-based education for children aged 5 to 11 in central Kuala Lumpur. The campus is located next to the Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve, providing a uniquely green and calm setting for young learners. The curriculum follows the Cambridge Primary pathway, establishing foundational skills in core subjects like English, Mathematics, and Science. The primary campus is equipped with classrooms, a library, and labs for ICT and Science tailored for younger students. Pupils also use the school's shared sports facilities, which include a football field and courts for various games. A defining characteristic of the school is its affiliation with the De La Salle Brothers, which introduces an ethos focused on character development from an early age. This heritage is integrated into the school's daily life, alongside academic learning.
