Admissions

How to apply, waitlist information, and financial support

Admissions Process

1. Submit Application and Documents
Parents must complete the student application and registration forms, submitting them along with the required documents, including identity cards, academic report cards, and passport-sized photos, before the academic year begins.

2. Placement Assessments
Once the application is received, students undertake placement testing, which includes assessments in English, Science, and Mathematics. Additionally, an online English Diagnostic Test is conducted to determine appropriate placement.

3. Offer and Registration
Successful candidates receive a “Letter of Offer.” Enrollment is confirmed once the registration fee, as well as any other required documents and applicable payments, have been paid.

4. Payment Guidance
Fees must be paid according to the school’s billing schedule, typically two months before the start of each semester. Applicants applying for scholarships or bursaries must settle at least one semester’s fee before submitting their application.

Waitlist

Should a particular secondary year group be full, successful applicants will be placed on the waiting list. The school will then make an offer as soon as a place becomes available.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

The secondary school offers several scholarships, primarily focused on academic merit and sporting achievements. Academic scholarships are available for students entering the A-Levels programme, with the value (up to a 100% tuition fee waiver) based on outstanding IGCSE or SPM results.

Merit scholarships are also offered for entry into the lower secondary school based on UPSR results.

Sports scholarships are awarded to students competing at a national level, and a limited number of scholarships are available via the school's 7-S Programme for students new to the Cambridge curriculum.

Located in central Kuala Lumpur beside the Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve, St. John’s International Secondary School educates students aged 11 to 18. The school provides a clear academic progression through the Cambridge curriculum, starting with Lower Secondary, leading to IGCSE examinations, and culminating in the A-Level programme for university entrance. The school's facilities support this curriculum with science labs, a library, and various sports courts. Distinct from many international schools, St. John's continues the long-standing educational mission of the De La Salle Brothers in Malaysia. This is evident in its focus on character building and service, with co-curricular options like the Interact Club and St. John Ambulance. The school also offers specialised clubs such as Debate and Drone Technology, preparing students for varied post-secondary pathways.
