Admissions

How to apply, waitlist information, and financial support

Admissions Process

1. Initial Enquiry
Parents begin by submitting an enquiry form with their preferred curriculum and admission dates. The Admissions team will contact you to provide information, answer questions, and guide you through the next steps.

2. Campus Visit
After the enquiry, families are invited to visit the campus for a guided tour. This visit allows you to see the learning spaces, meet staff, and share details about your child’s interests so the school can personalise the experience.

3. Application Submission
If you decide to proceed, complete the Application Form and submit it with the non-refundable Application Fee. Supporting documents, such as previous school reports and identification, are also required at this stage.

4. Assessment
Once the application is received, the Admissions team will review it and arrange for the Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT4). This helps the school understand your child’s learning profile and place them appropriately.

5. Offer of Enrolment
Successful applicants receive an official offer letter within 3–5 working days. To secure the place, parents must sign and return the letter within 14 days and complete the registration and deposit payment.

6. First Day of School
On the first day, the Admissions team will welcome you and your child at the reception area. Families are guided through the settling-in process to ensure a smooth start to school life.

Waitlist

The school maintains a waiting pool for year groups that are at full capacity. If a place is not immediately available for a successful applicant, their name is added to this pool. When a space becomes available, the school will contact the next suitable candidate from the waiting pool.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

Straits offers scholarships to students who demonstrate exceptional ability. These are typically available for students entering Secondary School and are awarded based on academic merit or all-round excellence, which can include achievements in sports or performing arts. The scholarship application process is separate from the general admissions process and involves submitting a specific application, references, and often an interview with the school leadership.
