Tenby International School Setia Eco Park was established in 2008, built upon the long-standing heritage of Tenby Schools which began in 1960. The original Tenby school was founded by Mrs. Dorothy Nelson-Doig as a kindergarten for British expatriates in Malaysia, named after her hometown in Wales. Over decades, Tenby Schools pioneered a dual-stream system integrating both the Malaysian National Curriculum and the English IGCSE curriculum. Since January 2018, Tenby Schools has been part of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), a global network.
The school community includes students from various nationalities and cultural backgrounds. Community events are held throughout the year, such as international days, cultural dress-up days, and charity fundraisers. The school also celebrates key local and international festivals, involving students and parents in performances and classroom-based activities.
The Tenby Schools Parents Association (TSPA) plays an active role in building connections between parents, teachers, and the wider school community. It supports school-wide initiatives such as charity drives, International Day celebrations, and cultural festivals. The TSPA also organizes welcome events for new families and provides volunteer support for class activities and excursions. Coffee Morning events are held regularly to gather feedback and plan upcoming events.
Tenby International School Setia Eco Park caters to students ages 3 to 18. The school uniquely offers two curricula concurrently: an International British curriculum leading to IGCSEs and A-Levels, and the Malaysian National curriculum culminating in SPM exams. Its expansive 20-acre campus features a dedicated Early Years Centre with water play and nature school areas, a new sports complex with a 5-acre football field, an 8-lane swimming pool, and specialist science and design & technology laboratories. The school encourages participation in over 130 co-curricular activities, such as Model United Nations (MUN), various sports like football and basketball, and performing arts groups.
