Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Wadi Sofia International School was established in 2002 by the late Datuk Hassan Harun, a prominent Malaysian educator and advocate for lifelong learning. The school is part of Wadi Sofia College Sdn. Bhd. and is situated on a 21-acre family estate in Binjai, Kubang Kerian, Kelantan. Datuk Hassan had a long history in education, founding several institutions including Maktab Adabi (1970), Akademi Kenali (1974), Institut Pengajian Tinggi Adabi (1984), Institut Teknologi Tun Abdul Razak (1991), and Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (1997). The campus, originally a rubber plantation and orchard, has been transformed into a lush, green environment conducive to learning.

Community

Wadi Sofia International School boasts a multicultural community with students from over 20 countries. The school fosters cultural understanding through events like International Day, where students showcase performances representing various traditions. The campus environment is described as a "home away from home," emphasizing a warm and supportive atmosphere for all students.

Parent-Teacher Association

Wadi Sofia International School has an active Parent Teacher Association (PTA) that encourages parental involvement in school activities. The PTA organizes meetings and events, such as those that include lucky draws to engage the parent community. These gatherings provide opportunities for parents to connect with teachers and participate in the school's development.
