The school operates across two campuses: Beau Champ Campus (opened January 2025) and the established Moka Campus, with both campuses sharing the same values and commitment to international education. The Beau Champ Campus is located within the Anahita Beau Champ smart city on the east coast of Mauritius, in a sugar cane plantation setting surrounded by natural features. The school is English-medium and follows the IB Primary Years Programme, with an inquiry-based, student-centred approach that supports the social, emotional, creative, and physical development of learners. Classrooms are designed to be cozy and supportive, led by homeroom teachers and teaching assistants to provide individualized guidance, while technology is used intentionally to support learning, creativity, and collaboration. On-site facilities at Beau Champ include a library corner and a music room, and the campus features a large playground; after-school activities extend learning beyond the classroom.
Beau Champ Campus features a large on-site outdoor playground for active learning. Tennis is not offered on-site; weekly sessions at the Anahita court are available through an external provider. The after-school programme includes physical activities, with football listed as an option at the Moka Campus. A broad range of after-school activities extends opportunities for active learning beyond the school day.
Classrooms are designed to be cozy and supportive with small class sizes (Pre-Reception around 15, Reception around 18, Year 1 around 22) and each class is led by a homeroom teacher supported by a teaching assistant. The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) guides teaching, with an inquiry-based, transdisciplinary approach that balances academic learning with social, emotional, creative, and physical development. Technology is used intentionally to support learning, creativity, and collaboration. The Beau Champ Campus features a library corner and a music room, illustrating access to dedicated learning spaces on-site. Both campuses share the same values and educational approach, ensuring continuity for families across locations.
Beau Champ Campus offers after-school activities such as Rhythmic Adventure (percussion and rhythm instruments), Science Club, Trash to Treasure, and Tennis (not on-site; external sessions at the Anahita court). The Moka Campus offers after-school activities including art, yoga, science, engineering, gymnastics, drama, music, and football, reflecting a broad enrichment programme beyond academics. Most sessions are led by Clavis teachers or qualified external professionals and operate on a first-come, first-served basis. The after-school programme complements the IB curriculum and supports holistic development.
Clavis International Primary School is a non-profit, English-medium international primary in Mauritius serving ages 3 to 12. The PYP is inquiry-based and transdisciplinary, with a written, taught, and assessed curriculum that follows the Making the PYP Happen framework. Class sizes are small: Pre-Reception around 15, Reception around 18, Year 1 around 22, with homeroom teachers supported by teaching assistants. The school emphasises inclusion, with an inclusion team member from Moka guiding support at Beau Champ and ongoing resource expansion. Facilities include a library corner and a music room at Beau Champ, plus an outdoor playground shared across campuses. After-school activities include Rhythmic Adventure, Science Club, Trash to Treasure at Beau Champ, and art, drama, music, science, and engineering at Moka.
