Located at Labourdonnais Village, Mapou, Mauritius, Northfields is set on a site with rich vegetation and well-kept gardens. The buildings are designed to allow for plenty of natural light and good ventilation for learning indoors and outdoors. The main campus includes dedicated Primary and High School sections, each with numerous subject classrooms and a library. The High School also features four science labs, two computer suites, two specialist art studios, a design technology workshop, a drama room, an exam room and an assembly hall. The main campus houses an administration centre, two staff rooms, a canteen, a school shop and a medical centre. A Pre-Nursery campus is nearby with a similar learning environment.
Our sports grounds include a soccer pitch, a basketball court, and two additional multi-purpose courts. The Primary section has a separate, safe play area. The adjacent sports clubs provide access to resources for the Physical Education programme and extra-curricular activities. Facilities include a 25m swimming pool, numerous tennis courts, full-sized rugby and football fields, cricket nets and a cricket pitch.
The High School section includes four science labs, two computer suites, two specialist art studios, a design technology workshop, a drama room, an exam room and an assembly hall. The Library and Media Centre provides a flexible space with resources to support learning and teaching, with a librarian and computers available for student research. The Pre-Nursery campus provides a similar natural learning environment for younger learners.
Northfields offers a wide range of extracurricular activities across sports, culture, creativity and academics. Every year group can participate in after-school academic support and clubs to develop new skills. Students can choose between activities such as netball, athletics or diving. After-school activities can be registered as Service as Action activities on ManageBac, encouraging students to act and serve others. Programs include Model United Nations and Duke of Edinburgh.
Northfields International School Mauritius delivers an international education for ages 1–18. The curriculum blends IB (PYP, MYP, DP) with Cambridge IGCSE, the British Curriculum and a Montessori-inspired Early Years framework. From Pre-Nursery through Year 4, learners experience a Montessori-inspired EY environment; Years 5–6 use IB PYP in combination with the English National Curriculum; Years 7–9 follow IB MYP with the Cambridge Curriculum; Years 10–11 offer Cambridge IGCSE; and Years 12–13 provide either the IB Diploma Programme or A-Levels. The youngest learners are taught in a bilingual English–French setting, exposing students to both languages from an early age. Northfields is part of the Inspired Education Group, which offers global opportunities and a holistic framework across academics, sports and the arts. Founded in 2001 by eight parents, the school is located at Labourdonnais Village, Mapou, Mauritius, with primary and high school campuses, extensive science and technology facilities, a library, and sports amenities.
