In Form 3, learners sit the Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint to monitor progress. In Form 4 and 5, students undertake the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) programme. Westcoast International Secondary School is an IB World School authorised to implement the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP); the IBDP began in 2019 with Form 6 students and first graduates appeared in 2021. Class sizes are small, with a maximum of 25 students to emphasise individual attention.

Cultural and Language

Cultural Celebrations include International Day, Language Week, and Cultural Festivals.

Community and Service

Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) is a core compulsory component of the IB Diploma Programme that promotes holistic development through experiences in creative thinking, physical activity and voluntary community service. CAS is extended across all programmes to help learners become balanced, caring individuals. The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award is offered at WISS, with Bronze, Silver and Gold levels; the school has hosted Gold cohorts since 2023 and organized an international Gold Adventurous Journey in 2025, and operates as an official Award Centre.

Leadership and Professional

Leaders coordinate CAS and DofE programmes: Agnes Seeruthun is the CAS Coordinator and Laine David is the DofE Coordinator. The Duke of Edinburgh Award fosters leadership, resilience, goal-setting and collaboration.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

Regular involvement in physical activity is central to WISS's education, and Health and Physical Education play an integral role in the program. The school offers an extensive sporting program to develop mental, emotional and physical wellbeing, teamwork, sportsmanship and self-discipline. Facilities include an outdoor basketball court, football field, volleyball and table tennis areas; the Unicity Sports Centre partnership provides access to a 50m Olympic pool, tennis courts, football and rugby fields, running track and gym facilities nearby.
