Boarding, Uniform and Food

Daily life details and school culture

Boarding Arrangements

The school offers two intercambio modalities as part of its exchange program. Bilateral exchanges with partner schools in Germany involve living with host families and attending classes at the local school, providing full immersion in the German language and education system. This option is available to students in 1°I, 1° and 2° of DSD International and lasts 3 to 6 months (half a school year). Conditions include hosting a German student, mutual maintenance costs, evidence of grades (and if in Group I, a partial report); 25% of monthly tuition is paid during the exchange months; there is no waiting list. The Internado modality offers boarding in Germany and other countries for 6 to 12 months (half or full school year). It requires grade evidence, 25% tuition paid during exchange months, and for full-year stays, a temporary withdrawal with no enrollment or monthly payments; for full-year options, transcripts may need revalidation with SEP and the Abitur process in mind (apostille as applicable).

Uniform Requirement

In the upper school, ceremonies require wearing a black pants or skirt and a white shirt or blouse. Students appearing at ceremonies in non‑uniform will be denied access; parents are notified by school staff.

Governance and Ownership

The Colegio Humboldt Puebla A.C. is a civil association recognized in the State of Puebla by the Secretaría de Educación Pública. It is governed by a Board of Directors (Concejo Directivo) and an Assembly of Associates.

Colégio Humboldt Puebla is a bicultural German–Mexican school for ages 0 to 18 that participates in the German Auslandsschulnetz. The curriculum blends a German-based program with a bespoke local curriculum and a tri-lingual approach to Spanish, German, and English. In Primary, German is the first foreign language, and Mathematics and Science are taught in German; English becomes the second foreign language in grade three. The school weaves Mexican customs with German-European traditions, supported by German-speaking teachers who reinforce immersion. For students entering Primary with no German knowledge, leveling classes in small groups provide a one-year transition to full participation. The campus offers extensive after‑school workshops in music, theatre, arts, and sports, plus dedicated sports academies. Facilities include a large athletics complex, modern science laboratories, a new Kindergarten/Primary area, and, in 2024, padel and pickleball courts. CEPAL supports pedagogical training, and intercultural exchanges with Germany enrich language skills and cultural understanding.
