Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The school considers each student from emotional, social, and academic perspectives to ensure integrated development. Socio-emotional development is emphasized, including building self-esteem, self-confidence and the ability to cope in different situations. The school focuses on developing social skills such as sharing, socializing, establishing boundaries, and respecting rules. Extracurricular activities, trips abroad, volunteer work, and workshops contribute to developing an international perspective and healthy socialization. The educational proposal is based on Creativity, Research, Problem Solving, Leadership, and Technology, supported by Educational Innovation. The school's core principles are: I am respectful, I am inclusive, I am empathetic, I am responsible, I am grateful, I am honest.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Inclusion Educativa is an inclusion program for children, adolescents and young people with an intellectual disability, implemented at San Mateo and Interlomas campuses for primary and bachillerato. The objective is that students receive supports to acquire competencies and develop skills that enable independent participation in their community with self-determination. Personalized teaching strengthens all areas of development and integrates students by age; partial integration occurs in primary and across secondary and bachillerato subjects. Inclusion promotes functional academic skills, social skills, and emotional competence. Inclusion benefits everyone by raising awareness and guiding the school community toward a culture of diversity, tolerance, and equity. The school works with parents to foster autonomy and a sense of responsibility for daily tasks.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

Preschool is taught 100% in English with a French language component. Preschool focuses on socio-emotional development to support healthy self-esteem, personal safety, and adaptability. It also emphasizes social skills and language development, including English vocabulary, and English phonemic awareness and phonics. Middle School (Intermedia) is 100% bilingual with a French class. A bilingual program with French language study is offered across levels.

Mental Wellbeing

Emotional needs are addressed by specialized staff, including counselors, grade coordinators, and trained psychologists. The middle school program focuses on six core dimensions of learning: creativity, collaboration, development of character, communication, critical thinking, and citizenship. Counselors design individualized interventions to understand where each student is and guide them toward lifelong learning. This integrated approach supports emotional development and social skills as part of the educational experience.

Safeguarding

For safety, every person entering the facilities must present official identification at the security gate, follow security staff instructions, and wear a visitor badge. The entry doors to Av. San Miguel and Av. de las Granjas are for students and staff only. To ensure safe departures, if you are not picking up a student in person, a written note with the name of the person picking up is required or a call to inform the school in advance.
