Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The school provides a Socio-Emotional Learning (SEL) program that develops self-awareness, self-control, and social skills by teaching strategies to understand emotions, manage them, solve problems, and build values and identity. It fosters socio-emotional intelligence and teamwork across the student body.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

The school has a Personalized Education team of psychologists who evaluate, listen, and offer emotional support to every learner. The safeguarding policy also notes tailored protection for students with special educational needs, disabilities, or other unique circumstances.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

The school teaches English as a language of learning through CLIL; multilingualism includes English, Spanish and French. English fluency is fast-tracked through Total Immersion and CLIL-based learning, with a structured language-support pathway.

Mental Wellbeing

The Mind & Body lab provides a holistic space dedicated to physical and mental wellness, with mindfulness, relaxation, and fitness activities. Wellbeing emphasizes emotional and mental health as part of the student experience.

Safeguarding

The safeguarding policy ensures student welfare is central; the safeguarding team provides tailored protection and support for those with special educational needs or other unique circumstances. Safeguarding training is provided for all staff; the campus is monitored with 24/7 security and CCTV; medical infirmaries are on-site; and online safety education is included.

Instituto Thomas Jefferson Querétaro is a private international school in Mexico serving learners from ages 2 to 18. The curriculum follows the International Early Years Curriculum in Nursery, the International Primary Curriculum in Elementary, and the International Middle Years Curriculum in Middle School, culminating in a High School program focused on International Studies and University Affairs. Learning is project-based and inquiry-driven, with multilingual development supported by Total Immersion in English and CLIL, while Spanish continues to grow and French is available.
