Shine Ue School was founded by Honoured Teacher of Mongolia Maam Unenbileg under ordinance no. 222 of the Governor of the Capital dated May 29, 2003, and started with 11 teachers, seven staff and 86 students in 10 groups of grades 1-10 in 2003. By the 2021-2022 academic year, 1,400 students were studying with 108 teachers and staff. The school offers advanced math and English and studies all other subjects to international standards. In July 2016 it became a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and began implementing it in the 2018-2019 academic year, becoming the first Mongolian school to implement the IB Diploma Programme nationally and earning the title of IB World School. To broaden international curricula, in the 2021-2022 academic year the school was officially authorized as a Cambridge International School and started implementing the Cambridge IGCSE in grades IX and X.
The Shine Ue School community features a robust after-school program with activities such as brush lettering, dance, choir, music, science club, chess, and sports training. Instructors include university staff and specialists for these offerings. Elective lessons develop talents in Mathematics, Mongolian Script, Literature, English, Russian, and Art and Crafts. The school has a track record of achievements in national and international competitions, including IB Diploma Programme recognition (IB Diploma Programme in 2016 and IB World School status) and Cambridge International School authorization in 2021-2022.
Shine Ue School is a private international school in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, offering a blended international curriculum designed for students pursuing higher education abroad. The school provides the Myanmar Curriculum alongside Cambridge Secondary, Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge International AS Levels, Cambridge A Levels, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Shine Ue became the first Mongolian school to implement the IB Diploma Programme in 2018 and was authorized in 2022 to offer Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge AS/A Level programs; the school is accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization and Cambridge Assessment International Education. Class sizes are limited to 25–30 students, with specialist teachers delivering instruction in English.
