Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The school provides social-emotional learning support through a School Social Worker and a High School Counsellor who are part of the student support team. The Social Worker addresses welfare concerns and coordinates with other professionals, while the Counsellor offers guidance to students and supports wellbeing and transition planning.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

The school has a Special Education Needs team that includes the School Social Worker, the Psychologist, and primary and secondary managers. It aims to provide equal access to the IB Diploma Programme and to meet learning needs of students with disabilities, learning difficulties, or giftedness. It identifies struggling learners and refers them to the SEN team and arranges inclusive assessment and support with appropriate documentation and confidentiality.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

Shine Ue School offers bilingual education in Mongolian and English. English is the main language of instruction for Grades 9–12; English is taught by foreign and bilingual teachers from Grade 1, with additional extracurricular English courses for students who need extra support. English is used in school clubs and many subjects, and language planning supports bilingual learners.

Mental Wellbeing

Mental wellbeing is supported by a School Social Worker and a High School Counsellor. The SEN team also includes a Psychologist to support learners' mental health, and the school counselor collaborates with English teachers to provide guidance as part of student development.

Safeguarding

The school operates a Complaints Policy to review and resolve concerns about student welfare, including rights violations. A social worker handles complaints related to children's rights, and issues are addressed with confidentiality and timely responses.
