Extra-Curricular Activities

Clubs, activities, and opportunities to explore interests and passions

Academic and Intellectual

ECAs are built around three core pillars: Creative, Sports and Academic. The programme runs after the school day, with sessions typically Monday to Thursday; in the Secondary School, activities can change each half term. The ECA Programme includes Intervention Classes in Maths, English and Science, which are mandatory for students and do not exceed two sessions per week. This framework broadens learning beyond the classroom and supports a wide range of skills.

Arts and Creative

The Arts and Sports Centre offers an extended after-school activity club for BISC students and local youth aged 4 and up, running 4pm–5pm Monday to Thursday and led by specialist coaches. Music lessons cover piano, guitar and drums, with styles ranging from classical to contemporary in line with the UK Music Teachers Board. The school is the only one in Morocco to offer the Little Beatz dance programme, with disciplines including Tap, Ballet and Street/Hip Hop. The age range for these arts offerings extends from 3 to 18 years.

Cultural and Language

The school marks a range of cultural events and festivals across the year, including World Book Day, International Women's Day, Holi, Lunar New Year, Humanities Day, Enterprise Day and Trips Week. Language provision emphasises English instruction with EAL support, while mother tongue programmes support students' home languages, and Mandarin is offered as an optional subject alongside French and Arabic.

Social and Hobbies

Extra-curricular activities include the Arts & Sports Centre, which offers after-school clubs for ages 4+ from 4pm–5pm, Monday to Thursday. The School House System fosters social interaction and healthy competition through termly house events, including sporting, quizzes and academic activities; House Points reward effort, spirit and involvement. Trips Week and University Fairs expand students' social and experiential learning beyond the classroom.

Community and Service

Community life includes outreach and charitable events, such as community outreach visits to Lalla Hasna Orphanage. The school also hosts events like the Winter Fair and University Fairs that engage families and the local community in fundraising and guidance activities. These activities supplement classroom learning and community involvement.

Leadership and Professional

Leadership is fostered through the School House System, where students are placed in one of four Houses (Bath, Cambridge, Oxford, Warwick) with Heads of House and participate in inter-House events across the phases. House Points reward good work, contribution to lessons, community spirit and participation, promoting leadership and teamwork. Enterprise Day provides opportunities to develop entrepreneurial skills across Primary and Secondary.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

The school features a six-lane, 25m indoor swimming pool used year-round for coaching and galas, and an Elite Athletic Programme to develop swimmers for local and national competitions. Pastoral care and safeguarding are central to the school's approach, with staff monitoring and supporting students' wellbeing. Mental Health Week and other wellbeing-focused events are part of the yearly calendar to empower students to voice their wellbeing needs.
