Language Provision

Arabic programs are based on the CECRL framework. The school offers two tracks: 3 hours per week and 5 hours per week. The 3-hour track aims to validate level A1 by the end of CM2 for students who have followed it for at least two years; the 5-hour track aims to validate A1 by the end of CE1, with the most advanced students reaching A2 by CM2. In 6e, descriptors from A2 support the transition to B1, and oral work is continuous while writing uses standard Arabic; vocalization is used as needed. The Arabic program is part of an official cooperation between Moroccan and French authorities (signed in 2003) and integrates language, history, geography and Moroccan institutions into the curriculum.

Bilingual Teaching

Mai des Langues features language-celebrating activities, including poetry readings in Arabic and French, magazine creation, and the recreation of the Monopoly board game in Arabic. Arabic-language students produce bilingual journals (Arabic in French). In English, 5th-grade students undertake English-language writing and design projects, including a first and fourth cover with a pitch for a fantasy story. There is a poetry reading in three languages—French, English and Arabic.
