Three languages are taught: French as the language of instruction, Arabic as the host language, and English as an international language. French is the common language and language of instruction; Arabic provides identity and culture; English is taught as an international language with EMILE. By the end of the primary cycle, students reach CECRL levels A1 to A2.
French is the language of instruction and the common language. Arabic is the host language, a marker of identity and culture. English is taught as an international language with EMILE (English as a Medium of Instruction) in parts of the curriculum. From maternelle to CP (ages 3–7), English is 1 hour EMILE plus 30 minutes with a teacher, and Arabic is 3 hours; From CE1 to CM2, English is 1 hour EMILE plus 1 hour 30 minutes with a teacher, and Arabic is 3 hours in standard, 5 hours reinforced, with a 5-hour International Section.
EMILE provides English as a Medium of Instruction across portions of the curriculum. An International Section offers additional Arabic instruction with 5 hours of Arabic. The multilingual program aims to develop linguistic, cognitive, and social competencies.
Ecole André Chénier is an elementary school in Rabat, welcoming students from maternelle through CM2 (ages 3 to 11). It belongs to the AEFE network and is homologated by the French Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research, ensuring alignment with French programs and values.
