Founded in 1982 with the first primary school, Groupe Scolaire La Résidence expanded through the 1980s to additional primaries and a middle school. In 1992 it launched a nursery and high school with science and economics tracks. It opened the engineering preparatory program (MPSI) in 1998 and the Language Center in 1999. The first Moroccan Economic and Commercial Preparatory Classes (ECT) were created in 2000, PCSI prep classes followed in 2002, the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) certification was earned in 2002, and in 2007 the school was homologated by the French Ministry of Education for kindergarten through terminale.
Student life is organized through the Student Committees CVC and CVL, and through the College Life Council (Conseil de vie collégienne) and the Lycée Life Council (Conseil de vie lycéenne). These governance bodies meet regularly to discuss and decide on various aspects of school life, including space planning, school events, communication with administration, student well-being, environmental projects, and extracurricular activities. Periscolaire clubs provide extracurricular activities outside class hours across arts, sports, science, music, theatre, cooking and foreign languages, enabling students to explore new interests and develop social, creative, and academic skills. The school organizes and participates in annual orientation fairs; the GSR orientation fair invites notable schools to present paths and opportunities to students.
