Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

The Lycée Français International Louis-Massignon Casablanca is a French-accredited school located in Casablanca and a member of the Mission laïque française OSUI network. Since opening in 1996, LFILM has grown to serve preschool through terminale across multiple Casablanca sites, guided by French educational standards and a plurilingual and intercultural approach. It was the first self-financed, non-profit establishment created in Morocco by OSUI. The school expanded to campuses in Mers Sultan (1998), Val d'Anfa (2001), Ain Sebâ (2008), and the Bouskoura campus (2016), and it serves about 3,985 students across three sites.

Community

The establishment's Project for the 21st century Pursues the development of social-emotional, relational, and cognitive skills through curriculum and experiences. It emphasizes student well‑being and engagement, including field trips, immersive activities, cultural outings, and participation in events that foster growth. The program offers pathways in arts and culture, health education, citizenship, career planning, languages, and digital education. The digital pedagogy includes tools such as a managed learning environment and secure online platforms to support learning and digital citizenship. It also prioritizes student representation through class delegates, eco-delegates, and student ambassadors in initiatives like the PHARE program.

Parent-Teacher Association

Association des Parents d'Elèves de Massignon, APEM, has existed since 1996 and is the first voluntary parent association in the OSUI network, uniquely coordinating OSUI associations in Morocco within La FAPEE. APEM maintains a roster of parent representatives who sit on school councils and on various commissions (including catering, transport, and digital health), and organizes activities such as Christmas markets and solidarity campaigns to assist families in need, including campaigns against harassment. The Association des Parents d'élèves (APE) was created in 2006 to voice parents' views within LFILM's governance and to work with the administration and teaching staff to support student development, promoting constructive dialogue and mutual trust.
