Lycée Regnault is a directly managed AEFE secondary school in Tangier, Morocco, serving as the reference point for French education in the city. Founded in 1913, it is the oldest French lycée in Morocco and forms the heart of the AEFE Tanger pole, coordinating northern AEFE establishments. The curriculum is French, and the school participates in AEFE mobility programs and projects such as eloquence contests and EUROmad 2026. Distinctive features include the Parcours d'éducation artistique et culturel, expanded language pathways including PARLE, and a strong emphasis on citizenship, health education and inclusive practice. The lycée Regnault is a directly managed establishment within the AEFE network. It also administers the Tanger pole, the northern zone of AEFE establishments in Morocco. It is a reference for French education delivered in Tangier and is currently undergoing significant development as part of the plan for developing French education abroad and Cap 2030 set by the President of the French Republic. This year the lycée has 26 classes and 706 students. The grade distribution is: 6ème – 4 classes (91 students); 5ème – 4 classes (103); 4ème – 4 classes (111); 3ème – 4 classes (115); 2nde – 4 classes (112); 1ère – 3 classes (93); Terminale – 3 classes (81). The standard hours comply with the homologation requirements of the French Ministry of National Education.
The College Life Council (CVC) is a student body that promotes pupil involvement in the life of the collège, with exchanges aimed at improving the school's functioning and pupils' living conditions. The lycée life includes the CVL, a student delegation that engages lycée students in decisions, discusses orientation, and addresses school-life matters. Eco-delegates lead projects to improve biodiversity, reduce energy consumption, promote eco-responsible actions, and combat food waste, acting as ambassadors to services and school authorities. A range of after-school workshops is offered during the midday break, including a journalist club, Manga, visual arts, circus, computing and programming, and a Reading Club. These structures support student engagement and well-being across both the collège and lycée.
Inclusive education is a priority at the Tanger pole. A full-time inclusive-education teacher has been created to oversee, support, and facilitate the implementation of inclusive provisions within École Berchet and Lycée Regnault. A wide range of support measures are developed to assist learners with special educational needs and enable their success within the school community.
English is taught as part of the language policy, with a consolidated English program from the first degree. The project includes formal language pathways (PARLE) and the strengthening of language teaching, including the host-country language, with a plan to enhance language offerings such as Spanish. English instruction is consolidated at the early levels.

The admissions process is fully online on efmaroc.org. Admissions decisions are made by commissions that bring together the school heads and the managers of the service in charge of French education. They are made solely on the basis of the families' wishes, and in consideration of available places. Admissions follow a single, mandatory online procedure for all levels (primary, collège, lycée, post-bac). There are two tracks: admission of students from PS to terminale; and admission of students based on their school records from MS to 2nde (MS-GS and CP on interviews; CE1 to 2nde on review of school reports). Registrations for all levels (from PS to terminale) are generally carried out at the start of the calendar year via a single online process on inscriptions.efmaroc.org.
