The school is a privileged AEFE partner in Morocco comprising two entities: the Auguste Renoir primary school and the Victor Hugo secondary school. The primary has over 850 pupils and the secondary about 1,200 pupils in 6e to Terminale. The school offers the same programs as public French education and prepares students for the same exams and diplomas, with Arabic taught under a Moroccan French partnership overseen by Rabat's Arab Studies Center. The campus is located in central Marrakech on Route de Targa and originated as a former military site; major renovations included a kindergarten building and a science building inaugurated in 2019, with renovations to other buildings and plans for a new administrative building. Since the 2019-2020 school year Serge Faure has been the principal.
The school hosts events such as Fête de la science featuring a conference by Ahmed Djebbar, technology challenges, electricity workshops, astronomy, and a special edition of Questions pour un champion – Sciences. A visit by Jerome Teillard, Inspector General and head of the Parcoursup project at the Ministry of National Education, took place on 26 January 2026. Nuits de la lecture was held on 22 January 2026 in the CDI with the theme Villes et campagnes.
The school conducts elections for parent representatives to the Conseil d établissement and to the Conseil d école. Four candidate lists participate: APEMA, UCPE, Aziza Chouki, and Najwa Brouz. Elections were held online from 6 to 9 October 2020. The Conseil d établissement has a tripartite composition with one third from management, one third from staff, and one third from users, including four parent representatives and two student representatives. The Conseil d établissement adopts the establishment project, the règlement intérieur, the horaires scolaires, the plan annuel d'éducation et de formation, and other matters related to school life.
Lycée Victor Hugo, Marrakech, is a French AEFE international school serving ages 3 to 18 on a campus housing the Auguste Renoir primary and Victor Hugo secondary schools. The school teaches the French curriculum from Petite Section to Terminale, with PS to CM2 in primary and 6e to Terminale in secondary, and prepares students for the same public exams and diplomas as in France. Arabic language is taught under a Moroccan-French partnership supervised by Rabat's Arab Studies Center, reflecting the school's bilingual culture. Located on Route de Targa in Marrakech, the campus serves about 2,400 students, with class sizes of 25–35 and 27 on average. Serge Faure has been principal since 2019. Redevelopment includes a new kindergarten, a science building inaugurated in 2019, and renovations to teaching facilities; a health service, IT and documentation teams support life and learning. The school promotes mobility and cultural exchange within the AEFE network.
