Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Global Pathways International School (GPIS) was established in 2022 by Strategy First Education Group to provide Myanmar students with pathways to international university education. It operates as part of Strategy First Education Group, drawing on the group's experience in international education since 2010. GPIS offers a range of international programmes including Pre-IGCSE, IGCSE CIE/Edexcel, Pre-GED, GED, NCC Level 3 Diploma Programmes, and the NCUK International Foundation Year, enabling progression to universities. The school currently operates campuses in Yangon and Mandalay. Public materials indicate ongoing development and expansion through NCC and NCUK partnerships.

Community

GPIS describes an active student community with the Voices of Our Students feature, which highlights student experiences and projects. Public updates celebrate student achievements in community initiatives, including the Your World 2024-2025 competition, where GPIS Mandalay students were national winners and won Best Video of Innovation. Public newsletters highlight student projects and collaboration across campuses, reflecting an emphasis on student-led learning and cross-campus engagement.

Parent-Teacher Association

GPIS publicly lists a leadership team including Founder and President U Aung Chit Khin; Vice President (Academic) Dr Sein Min; Principal Daw Ni Lar Win; Vice President (Admin) U Aung Kyaw Htay; and Director Daw Wai Yan Paing Zaw. Education Consultants are available to assist families with pathways to international universities. Public materials describe governance and leadership but do not publish a dedicated PTA entity or PTA activities. GPIS participation in community events includes Your World 2024-2025, with GPIS Mandalay achieving national winner status and Best Video of Innovation, as documented in school communications. Public newsletters and student-voice features further illustrate family and community engagement through student-focused activities. In August 2025, NCUK welcomed GPIS Yangon as a study centre, reflecting ongoing external partnerships that involve the broader school community. GPIS's collaborations with NCC and NCUK demonstrate a long-term international pathway network that engages students, families, and external partners.
