English is the language of instruction; Burmese (Myanmar language) is taught as part of the curriculum. Myanmar Language is a defined subject in Primary. ESL pull-out and in-class support are provided for English language learners across the Primary to Grade 10 range. The school also runs a mother tongue programme and a modern foreign languages programme to support multilingual development.
KVIS uses English as the language of instruction, with Burmese used for formal documents and as part of the curriculum. All students in the International Program study English and Burmese from Primary to Grade 10. The school supports multilingualism through a mother tongue programme and an English as a Second Language (ESL) framework to assist language learners.
English and Burmese are the two languages used in immersion. In Year 2, students are immersed at about 80% English and 20% Myanmar, and immersion is complete from Year 3 onward, with school days rotating between English and Myanmar. The immersion approach applies mainly to the International Program as part of the school's language strategy.
King's Valley International School (KVIS) in Mandalay offers a Cambridge Curriculum and prepares students for Cambridge IGCSE. The Mandalay campus is located at Ta-1/41, Corner of 64th St and 103rd St, Chan Mya Thar Si Township. The school also operates a Mogok campus. English is the language of instruction, with Burmese offered as a second language and a mother-tongue program; Korean and Chinese are taught as additional languages. KVIS currently runs Year 2 to Year 11, with Cambridge Primary and Cambridge Lower Secondary in the early years and Cambridge IGCSE in the final years. Facilities include a library, science laboratory, ICT laboratory, a canteen, and a medical room. The principal is Ginalyn Silero. ESL support is available, and Cambridge certifications are pursued. The curriculum emphasizes language development, inquiry-based learning, and a broad range of activities, including arts, music, computing, outdoor activities, and sports.
