Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
BSY opened in August 2014 as Yangon's first premium British international school, established under The British Schools Foundation. It later joined Nord Anglia Education in 2017, becoming part of a global network. After significant investment, a new purpose-built campus opened in 2018 to welcome students in Year 10 and above. The school celebrated its first graduating class in 2022 as its senior provision matured. These developments reflect the school's growth and its integration into a multinational educational community.
BSY welcomes students from more than 40 countries and cultures and is part of the Nord Anglia Education family, connecting the school to a global network. The school belongs to FOBISIA, enabling regional sporting, cultural, and arts competitions. The campus offers extensive facilities to support community life, including three libraries, an Early Years center, a 500-seat theatre, a 25m swimming pool, two gyms, rock-climbing walls, and other spaces that foster collaboration. The Global Campus online platform connects BSY students with peers across Nord Anglia schools for joint projects and events.
BSY describes active parent involvement through coffee mornings, parent information evenings, community events, and Principal Q&A sessions. EYFS and primary programs include parent class representatives who share information with other parents. In secondary, parents help deliver parts of the PSHE curriculum and organise assessment workshops. Through the Parent Teacher Group (PTG), parents collaborate with staff to support the school through fundraising and community events. Regular communication channels include student diaries, emails, and parent blogs, and the school hosts parent information evenings and coffee mornings.
