Billing schedule and payment terms

- The school year is organised on four teaching terms; the published term start dates for 2025/2026 are: Term 1 18 August 2025, Term 2 27 October 2025, Term 3 19 January 2026, Term 4 13 April 2026. Tuition figures above are annual amounts; per‑term figures are the annual amount divided by four to match the four‑term structure.

- Invoicing and payment timing:
- Tuition invoices are issued by the Directorate; invoices are generated shortly after 1 July with the applicable exchange rate applied. Payment is due on receipt of the invoice but no later than 30 days from the invoice date. Payments must be made in advance of the student's first day of attendance. Families select payment frequency on registration (annual, bi‑annual or quarterly / 1, 2 or 4 payments).

- Currency and bank charges:
- All tuition charges are payable in Euro. When making payment, all bank charges must be borne by the remitter.

Boarding fees

- AFNORTH is an international day school; no boarding provision or boarding fees apply.

Other costs and routinely billed items

- Extra‑curricular and activity fees: Additional costs for extra‑curricular activities (for example Middle/High School sports and other co‑curricular activities) are invoiced after registration; participation by students enrolled outside the US section in some US‑section activities may carry a per‑activity charge.

- Sports: For international students not enrolled in the US section, there is a charge of EUR 100 per sport (this fee is invoiced through the AIS Finance Office).

- Catering / lunch cards: Lunch accounts are managed by the Business Office. Replacement lunch cards: the first two replacements are free; subsequent replacement cards are EUR 5 each (paid at the Business Office). Cafeteria purchases are charged to the student lunch account.

- Transportation (school bus): A school bus service is available and registration with the Bus Office is required; bus services are organised and billed through the Bus Office / Business Office as part of the school's transport procedures. Specific bus fares and billing arrangements are managed by the Bus Office and will be invoiced to parents.

- Uniforms and other personal items: standard school communications and policies reference dress code items in routine publications, but no compulsory uniform fee schedule is published as a line item in the tuition schedule. Extra costs such as personal stationery, exam fees, field trips, specialist course materials, and voluntary clubs may be charged separately and will be invoiced where applicable.

Refund and withdrawal handling

- Payment timing and refunds: Tuition payments must be made in advance; when a student withdraws or is deregistered the Directorate and Finance Manager review accounts and will check for overpayments. Overpayments may be refunded or issued as a credit note following the Directorate's admission and finance procedures.

Fee payment options and how amounts are collected

- Currency and collection: All tuition and school fees are collected in Euro; invoices are issued by the Directorate / Business Office and must be paid within the invoice terms. Bank transfer is the routine method referenced; bank charges are to be paid by the remitter. Payment frequency options are annual, bi‑annual or quarterly (1, 2 or 4 payments) and are selected on the application/registration form. Small, on‑site cash payments (for example the lunch card replacement fee) are accepted at the Business Office where indicated.

Notes on discounts

- A family discount applies for British and Canadian sections when three or more children from the same family are enrolled in that section (a 10% tuition discount per student for qualifying NATO‑connected families; discounted NATO figure: EUR 7,731.00 per year).

It serves students aged 3 to 18 and offers four curricula: American, Canadian, British, and German, reflecting a diverse, globally minded community.
