HSV International Primary School operates across four locations in The Hague: KSS, NSL, VNS and VHS. The KSS site is housed in a 1920s building renovated in 1999 and offers seven international classes across four floors in small learning environments of up to 20 children per class. The NSL location sits in the heart of The Hague in a building over 100 years old that has been modernised and houses both the Dutch and International departments, with integrated learning opportunities and specialist lessons such as music, gym and handicraft. The VNS location is in a 1920s building with art-deco features and is the International Department's largest site, with two classes per year group. The VHS location is HSV's most recent site, housed in a newly renovated building with opportunities for outdoor learning near Haagse Bos. [Source: turn8view0; turn7view0; turn9view0; turn10view0]
HSV uses the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and provides a brain-friendly, internationally-minded learning environment. The Literacy and Mathematics curricula align with English National Curriculum standards, with ICT integrated across classrooms; all classrooms have computers, interactive screens and iPads. All pupils have at least one weekly lesson in music, handicraft and gym, with specialist teachers for older students and Dutch-language integration in some lessons. The Host Country, Culture and Language (HCCL) program provides Dutch language and cultural learning, and English is supported through English as an Additional Language (EAL) provision, with progress monitored by class and EAL staff. Situated in the Benoordenhout area of The Hague, the HSV International Primary School's VNS location is housed in an authentic 1920s building that retains many of its original art-deco features. The school teaches a structured program based on the UK National Curriculum for Literacy and Mathematics, combined with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), ensuring subjects like science, geography, and art are taught through engaging, interdisciplinary units. A distinguishing feature of the VNS location is its size; it is the largest of HSV’s international branches, accommodating up to 280 pupils in classes capped at 20 students to allow for personalized, inquiry-based learning. In September 2025, the campus expanded its offerings by launching a Dutch Bilingual class, further integrating international students with the host country's culture. The VNS location provides a supportive, inclusive setting focused on developing global citizenship.
